Boulder, CO – This summer, Paradox Sports brings you Camp Paradox Colorado Springs, a weekend-long event filled with activities like a ropes course, hiking excursions, camp games, team building exercises, evening campfires and more for individuals with physical adaptive needs. Camp will be held at a beautiful campground in Cheyenne Mountain State Park and at the Inner Limit Adventures Ropes Course Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11. The cost of registration is $35 for individuals and $55 for families of 1-2 parents and 1-2 children.

Camp Paradox aims to bring together individuals who are physically disabled, along with their families and loved ones, and give them the opportunity to bond with those who face similar everyday challenges.

“This year, we’re looking forward to laughing, eating great food, sleeping in tents and talking about the importance of making smart decisions that navigate you toward a life of well-being,” said Timmy O’Neill, Executive Director of Paradox Sports.

Paradox Sports is committed to making outdoor sports readily available to people with varying physical disabilities so that they may fully participate in the activity and their lives. We employ innovative ideas, practical application and adaptive equipment to provide an atmosphere that encourages families to share experiences, camaraderie and other resources that can improve quality of life. Camp culture operates on a “challenge by choice” philosophy and the idea is to experience personal growth and inspiration through nature and activities that will strengthen the spirit within participants and the community of people in their lives.

Camp Paradox began last year in the Roosevelt National Forest. Participants varied in age and disabilities, and over half were U.S. Military Veterans. All attendees were thrilled to surround themselves with a caring staff that did not place limitations on their abilities and helped them conquer challenges. As one camper put it, “They didn’t lower expectations because I am blind-a very respectful way to treat a disabled person.”
