Welcome to the campfire. Just like walking up to a campfire at a local crag or beach you never know what kind of conversation you'll intercept here. We may be talking about prosthetic feet or it may be the latest health-care bill pending before congress. You may find a thread about which camera is the best to take on your sea-kayaking trip or one asking how to get in touch with Erik Weihenmayer. You just don't know what you'll find here. Use the search function to look up prior threads or just browse. All we ask is that you be respectful and honor the sanctity of the campfire. Thx, Malcolm

I have been going to the Boulder amputee support group for about 6 months and it is a pretty good group. On Tuesday July 14th fellow Paradoxer will be presenting at the group talking all things Paradox. The group meets at Boulder Community Hospital at 311 Mapleton Ave, Boulder. The group starts at 6:30 and ends at 8. This is a good opportunity to check out the support group. Shoot me an email if you need directions or a ride.

My prosthetist, Angela Montgomery, told me about this. I'll be there. She said to come to the North side entrance - not the normal S. side entrance. There will be signs. Look for the guy w/ a prosthesis - that'll be me. ;-)

It was a great time. A few old faces and many new. Loved the couple from Bhutan and wish them well. The woman, a recent BK amputee, lives in a village that is 10,000 below the monastery where she works. Every day, she hikes three hours up and three hours down to get to work. That would be a huge challenge for a normal. Can't even imagine doing that as an amputee. Every day...

After the meeting 10 of us went over to the Toad for beers and burgers, stories and lies. Now THAT's a support group meeting!

Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is.
How you deal with it is what makes the difference.
